I’m leaving early tomorrow morning to head up to Toronto for the Gathering of the Fellowship, so any e-mail I get won’t get a response untnil I get back sometime next week. Hope to see some of you there!
Return of the Jackalope has a page on MySpace. Check it out!
I found a couple more Shortland Street photos that I didn’t have on the site yet and added them into the gallery, along with a Mercy Peak banner that I swiped from TVOne.
I’ve added a press release from the Silo Theatre that was posted at stuff.co.uk today, mentioning that Craig would be leaving the play in a few days.
Another positive review for Glide Time, from viewauckland.co.uk.
Great new interview with Craig on New Zealand Listener with a small photo. Thanks to “isisfrog” for the link!
There is an audio review of Glide Time on radio.co.nz done by Natasha Hay. The review isn’t exactly favorable, but she does say that the cast is excellent.
I’ve added in several new DVD caps in the FOTR extras gallery from the Wellington FOTR premiere. They aren’t the best photos, but they’re something! In a couple he’s a bit behind Elijah, but he’s there! Thanks to TOE for making caps for me!
Another review of Glide Time:
“Oliver Driver’s direction shows a similar ambivalence – Craig Parker, as the office smart alec, is encouraged to throw himself into flourishes of pure theatricality but the production always settles back into the comic realism that is Roger Hall’s natural habitat.”
Read the full article at the NZ Herald. I’ve also got all the Glide Time articles & reviews all together on one place in the Stage & Screen section.
I spent some time going through the DVD extras on both FOTR sets and got a couple new caps that I’ve added into the gallery. I also changed the gallery a bit, I’ve made all movie caps in one section and then extras, promo pics and merchandise pics in another to make everything more organized. I’ve got an interesting shot of the scene where Haldir leads the Fellowship to meet Celeborn & Galadriel where it was filmed against blue screen, then later when they put in the CGI. I’ve also got two caps of Haldir wearing those hilarious disco boots to make him taller in a much larger size than the one I’ve had, so check them out!
Also, if you’re wanting to see some video clips of Craig at conventions, here’s a selection of them at youtube.com. It’s a great site with pretty much everything you can think of. I’ve been watching Fullmetal Alchemist on there for the past few months.
“Driver has cast each role perfectly, and in turn, the cast breathe new life into Glide Time. There are of course many individual stand-out moments: Devenie’s charisma-free farewell speech is magnificent. Parker’s crowning moment would have to be the inflection of the ultimate paper cut, as he commits harakiri with the instruction manual for the calculators imported from Japan. Healey’s expression is highly entertaining every time Beryl copes with the arrival of the morning mail, plus her mild vertigo is a treat. There are plenty of strong ensemble moments as well, such as the well-timed card-signing scene.”

The Gathering of the Fellowship still needs help! Even if you aren’t going to the convention you can still help out, as you will see the results of your efforts here when I post the photos of Craig from the con. Please read this message from Talasi below:
Thank you so much to everyone who has donated to Operation Gathering so far. You are making a difference!!! As you know we recently found out The Gathering of the Fellowship is a go. Yay!!! Right now the organizers are working feverishly to reorgnize the programming and make arrangements for the smaller number of attendees. I’m looking forward to the smaller crowds and getting to know you all!
We are still not out of the woods yet, though. The convention is definitely a go, but we need to raise funds to help cover guest expenses. Please keep in mind that this convention is put on by Tolkien lovers donating their time and efforts to put this together for all of us to enjoy. We are coming together in fellowship. This is not a convention machine like Creation. We told them we wanted Craig Parker, so we need to step up now and show our support to make sure we get him there!
Currently the guest expenses are the largest outgoing of funds for this convention. We really need your support in order to bring all the guests to the convention. If you can donate, please go to www.OperationGathering.com and donate via PayPal. All money goes directly to The Gathering of the Fellowship to cover guest expenses. Every little bit counts!!! Even a few dollars from a bunch of people goes a long way! Operation Gathering has several items up for auction right now with all money going to cover guest expenses. Please bid now!
VIEW ITEMS HERE.
We have some new items up including a custom-made Legolas costume that can be ready in time for the Gathering and costume pajamas based on Legolas’ jerkin.
Remember, every little bit counts!

The New Zealand Herald has another article on Glide Time today. I’ve also added the recent articles to the site in case they get taken down from where they’re originally posted, as the NZ Herald charges money to access past articles. You can find them in the stage section of the site.
Some of you may have heard recently that the Gathering of the Fellowship was close to being cancelled due to the small number of ticket sales they’ve had. The convention IS happening, but if any of you have yet to buy your tickets, please do so as soon as possible. Every little bit helps!
