Craig Parker Switches RolesSource: stuff.co.nz
February 24, 2008
HANDSOME actor Craig Parker is versatile when it comes to acting.
The Shortland Street star is in the grips of drug addiction as Guy Warner
on the soap but when time is called on that gig, he's working on the
American fantasy film Underworld: Rise of the Lycans.
Insiders tell me he's also landed a leading role in TV2's new series
Diplomatic Immunity and shooting will begin next month.
It's a comedy about a fallen diplomatic Foreign Affairs high-flier who
ends up babysitting the morally bankrupt (but for a good cause) staff of
the
embassy of The Most Royal Kingdom of Feausi.
His attempts to teach them right from wrong are more than countered
by their attempts to get him to remove the stick from his butt and
see the
world in
a more relaxed fashion.
It's a big, bold, brassy, sexy, politically incorrect comedy series
about love and manipulation.
It's also about the the battle of two men, the father and the suitor,
for the heart of one smart young woman.
Meanwhile, in Underworld Craig works with screen veterans Bill
Nighy (aka Davy Jones from Pirates of the Caribbean) and Rhona
Mitra, who
is a regular
on shows
including Nip/Tuck, Boston Legal and The Practice.
The prequel story, being shot here, traces the origins of the
centuries-old blood feud between the aristocratic vampires known
as Death Dealers
and their onetime slaves, the Lycans.
